Advocate slideshows: Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge celebration

“Brother, cross over the bridge” perhaps is an outdated reference to an old Patti Page song, but it kept running through my head Saturday, on the new Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.

We caught the Parade of Builders as well as the Parade of Giants, and we got to see one performance the Kessler Theater organized on a stage constructed on the West Dallas side of the bridge. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to spend as much of my weekend on bridge-centric activities as I would’ve liked.

Here are my pics from Saturday:

And here are Advocate reader Mark Lombard’s pictures, which are much better:

Love the photography. We werre out ot town and knew that we were missing a  wonderful celebration in Dallas. We’ve heard many good stories from friends about the weekend. Mark’s photographs transported me to the parade and special day celebrating the Calatrava Bridge.
