379403_10150343445276090_713133494_nWe’ve seen way too many weather disasters this spring in Texas and Oklahoma. None have hit too close to home yet, but here’s how you can stay updated on your Dallas ISD student in the event of a severe storm or tornado occurring during school hours:

[list type=”bullet”]
  • School Connect, a free mobile app available for Apple and Android mobile devices helps parents who use smartphones and tablets can keep track of important district information as well as receive notices from their child’s school in real-time via push and email messaging.
  • The new Dallas ISD Emergency Hotline will be activated in the event severe weather or a school emergency situation occurs to provide parents with updated information as it becomes available. Upon activation, parents will be able to call the hotline at 972.925.5810 to hear recorded information, which will be updated regularly as the emergency situation develops and unfolds.
  • Parents may find information on the district websiteTwitter, and Facebook.
  • The district also uses School Messenger, an automated calling system that contacts parents and staff with important information via their telephones. Parents are encouraged to make sure they keep their contact information updated at their child’s school.
