DISD teachers of the year have Oak Cliff connections

TAOY FINALIST ROSE DAVIDSONA Sunset High School graduate is the Dallas school district’s teacher assistant of the year.

Rose Davidson has worked at Dallas Environmental Science Academy in West Dallas for the past year. Davidson has helped with the school’s push for parent involvement, and she is known for her willingness to help students and parents alike in understanding assignments and curriculum, according to a DISD media release.

Central Market awarded Davidson $1,500.

Yvonne A. Ewell math teacher Joshua Newton won DISD teacher of the year. He was awarded $5,000 from Central Market.
