The fifth-annual Trinity River Photo Contest is free to enter and open to entries from people of all ages through midnight Oct. 15.

The photos are judged in three categories: amateur, pro and youth. And in four subcategories for each: architecture/structures, river/ponds, forest/prairie and wildlife.

As many as two photos per category, for a maximum of eight photos, may be submitted by each entrant. Enter online or mail or hand deliver entries to Trinity River Photo Contest, Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla-Room 6B-South, Dallas, TX 75201.

One grand prize winner will be awarded $500. First place in each category wins $125; second place wins $50; and third place wins $25.
