The Texas Theatre wins solar panels from Green Mountain Energy

13.07.11-ED-Cover-Story-Rick-Green-Home-DFulgencio-00062Green Mountain Energy is donating solar panels to three Dallas nonprofits, including the Texas Theatre.

The theater won the panels by submitting an application and “demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and are able educate their community on the benefits of solar energy.”

Green Mountain’s donation to the three nonprofits totals $80,000. The donation will be presented to the theater as well as the two other winners, Dallas Academy and Stonewall Gardens and Outdoor Science Lab, at 6:15 tonight. The presentation will be followed by a 7 p.m. screening of “The Lorax.”
