The good news: The Sylvan Avenue Bridge will open partially to traffic starting April 9, according to an update from the Texas Department of Transportation via City Councilman Scott Griggs.
The new $42.3-million six-lane bridge is scheduled to open completely July 9. It had been scheduled to open this month, and the city of Dallas could fine TXDOT up to $10,000 per day for missing its 15-month construction deadline.
