Dallas Police SWAT responded with at least 22 vehicles and a helicopter after a woman reported a gang rape in an apartment on Marsalis near Sixth last Friday. After a six-hour standoff, they found no one inside the apartment.

A 53-year-old with two prior DWI convictions is accused of killing a 23-year-old in a drunk driving incident at Interstate 30 and Cockrell Hill Sunday.

It’s a big week for Casa Rubia, the Trinity Groves restaurant from Driftwood Chef Omar Flores. It was named one of Texas Monthly’s 10 best new restaurants, and it was nominated for a James Beard Award for best new restaurant.

Lucia chef David Uygur also was nominated, for best chef in the Southwest.
