LOL Farmers Branch. They spent $8 million defending their bigoted housing ordinance and lost. Remember when their mayor said he didn’t want his town to be like Oak Cliff? No worries there, bro. Our real estate values just increased 53 percent.

Frito Lay will cease manufacturing at its plant on Duncanville Road and operate it only as a warehouse. The Plano-based company also has a ware house where Fort Worth Avenue meets West Davis.

A 20-year-old Oak Cliff man was firing a gun at targets in his backyard Saturday and shot his neighbor, 11-year-old Jasmine Contreras, who was inside her grandparents’ home. The girl was shot in the head, and the Dallas Morning News reported she was in stable condition in the hospital Tuesday. The shooter, Christian Manzano, has been charged with causing serious bodily injury to a child and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

Dallas City Hall finally passed its resolution in favor of LGBT non discrimination.

This is a ways outside the neighborhood, but it’s a fascinating tale of small-town government drama. The city of Duncanville is suing its own mayor.
