The $123-million Charles A. Sammons Tower at Methodist Dallas Medical Center at Colorado and Bishop is set to open in July.
The six-story building is capable of being expanded to 11 floors and will “expand the hospital’s emergency department ten-fold with 50 new emergency room beds, five trauma suites, eight surgical suites, a 36-bed critical care unit…” according to a media release.
Billionaires Nancy Ann and Ray L. Hunt recently donated $2 million to the hospital’s BrightER campaign, whose goal is to raise $20 million to build and equip the new tower. So far, the campaign has raised $18.7 million.
