Canadian-born Native American singer/songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie, performs at the Kessler on Sunday, Feb. 22.
Sainte-Marie, a political activist beginning in 1962, disappeared from the mainstream during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration, learning 10 years later that she’d been blacklisted because of her anti-war messages.
Sainte-Marie, 73, also appeared on “Sesame Street” for five years, and she has worked in TV and film as an actor and musician.
Her Dallas performance, presented by WordSpace, also is sponsored by The Arts Community Alliance and the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs.
