After eight years on the horseshoe, Dallas City Councilwoman Vonciel Jones Hill has termed out.
Six people are running for her seat, which represents part of our neighborhood. They are: Gerald Britt, a pastor and nonprofit executive; Wini Cannon, a lawyer and former judge; B.D. Howard, a lawyer; Kermit G. Mitchell; Joe Tave, who has served on various city boards; and Casey Thomas II, an educator.
The Old Oak Cliff Conservation League has invited them to meet their potential constituents at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at the Hampton Illinois Library.
