News roundup: Apartment fire, Bishop Arts burglar, toll road, La Bajada

news roundup 264X176A fire at Primrose Oaks Apartments, a retirement community near Kiest Park, killed a 65-year-old woman Thursday night.

A burglar broke into two Bishop Arts District restaurants, Lockhart and Zoli’s, this week and stole big-screen TVs.

The Dallas city attorney wouldn’t allow Council members Vonciel Jones Hill and Phillip Kingston to go toe-to-toe over the Trinity tollway during Wednesday’s open mike at the City Council meeting. But Kingston went in anyway, calling a press conference to say, “The toll road was sold on a pack of lies.”
