Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro plays a two-night stand at the Kessler Theater this weekend. And he’s offering a FREE show to neighborhood children starting at 9 a.m. Friday. About 200 students from Greiner, Rosemont, St. Cecilia and the Kessler School are expected to attend.

Sync yoga at Sylvan Thirty offers an inversion workshop from 1-3 p.m. Saturday.  The class costs $45 and includes pie from Emporium Pies after you learn to stand on your head.

Spinster Records celebrates Record Store Day from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday.

Small Brewpub throws a block party starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. Langhorne Slim & The Law, Quiet Company, Fox and the Bird and Christian Lee Hutson perform.

The Dallas International Film Festival takes up residence at the Texas Theatre this weekend.
