The old Taco Wagon restaurant on West Davis near Westmoreland has closed, and the building is for lease.
The restaurant was built in 1956 as the Chuck Wagon drive in, and restaurateur Jessie Carrizales renovated and reopened it as the Taco Wagon about two years ago. The restaurant had been operating under a new owner for a few months when it closed recently.
Where can you get a good beer and a burger west of Hampton? The world does not end there — a few good taquerÃas, a pretty good Salvadorean place and a sketchy bar or two. But it has come to my attention that there’s not a place down that way to say, have a nice beer. Someone please reopen the old Chuck Wagon for this purpose.
