News roundup: Water main breaks, robbery, Uber driver

At least five water mains broke throughout our neighborhood Thursday, leaving streets flooded and many neighbors without water. Bolsa Mercado had to close for the day because the water was out.

A man was robbed and shot in the 2800 block of West Davis, between Plymouth and Westmoreland, around 2 a.m. Sunday. The man was taken to the hospital. No one has been arrested in the crime.

The Uber driver accused of raping and Oak Cliff woman who was his passenger had a fraudulent  limo drivers license and should not have been authorized to drive for the service. The driver, 56-year-old Talal Ali Chammout, previously served prison time on federal weapons charges. Here is coverage of the case from the New York Daily News.
