Free money classes for small businesses at Oak Cliff Chamber

A year-long series of financial literacy workshops for small businesses begins next week at the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber and BB&T bank are offering “Cultivating Success,” which offers free classes and mentoring for existing start ups: “the curriculum will identify and meet the specific financial needs of local entrepreneurs over the course of a year.”

All of the classes start at noon. Here is the schedule:

Monday, Jan. 11, “Bank on It”
Monday, Feb. 8, “Borrowing Basics”
Monday, March 14, “Money Matters”
Monday, April 11, “Pay Yourself First”
Monday, May 9, “Covering Your Assets”
Monday, June 13, “Tax Planning & Reporting”
Monday, July 11, “Selling a Small Business”
Monday, August 8, “Succession Planning”
Monday, September 12, “Panel Discussion – CPA/Legal/Payroll Services”
