Police shoot armed man near Davis/Fort Worth Avenue crossroads

A Dallas Police Department officer shot and killed an armed man this morning in the 3600 block of West Davis at Kramer, near where Davis meets Fort Worth Avenue.

The officer pulled a car over at 9:43 a.m. DPD reports that the driver got out of his car and ran away with a gun in his hand. The officer ran after him, yelling commands.

According to police:

At some point the suspect turned towards the officer with the handgun. The officer fired his weapon striking the suspect.

The driver was taken to the hospital, where he died. That’s all the information the police have released so far, but we will stay with this story as updates are available.
