There are so many Mexican and Salvadoran tamale places in Oak Cliff that it’s hard to recommend one.
Dallas Tortilla and Tamale Factory is one of the oldest — they started in Little Mexico in 1950. Grocery stores including Fiesta and Rio Grande are great in a pinch. And there’s the successful Oak Cliff startup The Tamale Co., to name a few.
Some of the most highly recommended non-homemade tamales in Oak Cliff come from Tia Dora’s Bakery and Café on Illinois at Hampton.
