“Ramen pop-up” sounds like some kind of strange French/Japanese pastry, but really it’s way better.

Sous chef Justin Holt of Lucia is bringing back his pop-up dinners in 2017. The first, offering ramen and curry, starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at Whitehall Exchange.

He’s cooking Tori Paitan ramen, which is made with a rich chicken broth, with roasted pork chasu, a marinated soft boiled egg, marinated bamboo shoots, green onion and alkaline noodles.

Japanese battleship curry also will be offered. Holt says that dish sold out in 15 minutes last time he offered it. It’s a hearty meat-based stew served over rice.

Ramen will cost $10 and curry $5; it’s cash only. Get it while you can.
