Woman murdered after motel encounter

A woman was shot to death after an encounter at City Inn & Suites in Oak Cliff.

A surveillance camera recorded the woman meeting a man there around 3 a.m. They walked through the courtyard and to the parking lot.

The victim, Tamika White, got into the suspect’s vehicle, which appears to be a grey, early model Toyota Matrix with a sunroof. A few minutes later, she got out of that car and drove away with another person.

The Dallas Police Department says the suspect followed and caught up to them and, in the 1300 block of South Marsalis, shot into the car, killing White.

Crime Stoppers, 214.373.8477, will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

How do these shady places even stay in business? I get that many of its customers are homeless, but how do they afford to pay their property taxes?
