Groundhog Day, story time, americana music and more in Oak Cliff this weekend

Jay Farrar of Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo plays a solo show at The Kessler Thursday.

The Texas Theatre celebrates Goundhog Day with a double feature of “Groundhog Day,” starring Bill Murray and Oak Cliff native Stephen Toblowsky, Friday at 4 and 6 p.m.

This week’s edition of Kids in the Cliff story time at the Wild Detectives features a reading of “The Lion and the Bird,” from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Saturday.

Dallas-based americana/blue grass band Over the River performs a free show at The Foundry Saturday.
