Selena, glam rock, women writers and more in Oak Cliff this weekend

Midnight Opera performs at glam night at the Wild Detectives Friday.

The Bishop Arts Theatre Center’s one-act play festival celebrating women writers, “Down for the Count,” opens Thursday and runs through April 15. The festival includes six short plays that aim to amplify the female voice in American theater.

Take a trip back to the late ’70s punk and no-wave scene in New York City with “Go Night Clubbing,” a collection of videotaped performances. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
