Driver runs over cop in Oak Cliff

A Dallas Police officer walked away with bruises after a driver ran him over in Oak Cliff Tuesday morning.

The officer stopped a utility van in the 4100 block of Western Street because he suspected it was stolen and ordered the two men inside to step out.

The passenger started running, and the officer chased him on foot. Police say the man jumped onto the hood of a Ford Fusion and said, “Go!” The officer grabbed ahold of he man on the Ford Fusion, lost his grip and was pulled under the car.

The driver of the van and the Fusion were arrested. The runner got away.
