It’s a freestyle over Nas and the Bravehearts’ “Oochie Wally” called “Album of the Year.” He says, “Shout out Oak Cliff, I’m ’bout to fly to Dallas. Decade from now I might just buy the Mavericks. What up Mark Cuban…”

The lines came a few days after Oak Cliff-based rapper C. Struggs died of cancer.

Quite a few rappers have come out of Oak Cliff, starting with Nemesis in the late 1980s, and two of The Fader’s recent list of five “under-the-radar rappers from Dallas-Fort Worth” are from Oak Cliff.

Update: On Aug. 18, 2018, J. Cole made a surprise appearance at For Oak Cliff’s back-to-school event at Glendale Park.
