Out with the not-so-old, in with the new.
Betty Ringer, the ice cream shop specializing in unique flavors and making their products truly from scratch, didn’t survive too long. When we spoke to the owner previously, he mentioned that not using a pre-made base was more expensive. Sadly, the business wasn’t able to stay afloat.
A new restaurant that employs people with developmental disabilities, Shayna’s Place, is expected to open very soon. A grand opening is planned for Nov. 2. The restaurant is family-owned and comes to Oak Cliff via Rhode Island. Stop in for breakfast, sandwiches and salads.
Banh Mi Station is slated to open its Vietnamese street food joint in November. The restaurant will have vegetarian and vegan options. For the brave, they will serve a variety of soft serve ice creams including a charcoal flavor.
