A $1 million federal grant to the City of Fort Worth pushes forward a bike superhighway, planned to course through Oak Cliff, Grand Prairie and Arlington, in the not-so-distant future.

The first 53 miles of the Regional Veloweb, set to open in 2023, will run from Benbrook to Dallas and cost about $39 million. Most of the funding is coming from the Regional Transportation Council and municipal bonds. There’s only a few million to go before the planned 64-mile trail is fully funded.
