Beil’s reporting on spine surgeon Christopher Duntsch, whose gross malpractice killed and maimed patients, made “Dr. Death” one of the most popular podcasts of 2018. Duntsch practiced at the defunct University General Hospital on South Hampton Road.

Catch Beil from 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday.

The Wild Detectives has a stellar upcoming lineup besides that:

Shakespeare in the bar starts at 8 tonight with “King Lear.”

Seattle-based singer/songwriter Damien Jurado performs two shows at the Wild Detectives, at 7 p.m. March 1-2.

Jeff Tweedy of Wilco brings his memoir, “Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back)” at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3.

Oak Cliff native William Jackson Harper, who stars in the TV show “The Good Place” and recently produced a play based on Dallas Observer columnist Jim Schutze’s book “The Accommodation,” appears with Schutze at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5.
