It’s Selena weekend in Oak Cliff.
What is the Queen of Tejano’s connection to our neighborhood?
She once shot a music video in Martin Weiss Park. And there are at least three murals of her in Oak Cliff and West Dallas.
Mostly, we just love her.

Oak Cliff Brewing Co. gets it started with a karaoke party from 6-10 p.m. Friday, March 29.
A pop-up art show at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center starts at 5 p.m. Saturday.
The Texas Theatre shows the movie “Selena” at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Snap a pic with the giant Selena mural on Bishop Boulevard during Top Ten Records’ Selena celebration from 7:30-10 p.m. Saturday.
Club Dada hosts a night of music dedicated to Selena and a Selena look-alike contest that night.
On Sunday, Country Burger will have a lowrider show and a lookalike contest.
