Two students were crossing North Oak Cliff Boulevard Wednesday, leaving class and headed to on-campus lunch, when “they were approached by an unknown group of individuals in an attempt to lure them,” according to a letter sent to parents from principal Claudia Vega.

The students continued walking toward the school’s main building. The people, who were in a car, fired a shot into the air. The car drove off down the alley behind Iglesia la Luz del Mundo church.

The letter from Vega states that the school is “revisiting” students’ transitions between classrooms across the street and the main building. And police will be increasing patrols in the area.

Armed robbers have committed a string of muggings against Dallas ISD students in the past two weeks.
