The Dallas Police Department charged a 21-year-old man with indecency with a child by exposure after an incident at the Walmart on Cockrell Hill Road.
Police say the man, Matthew Cruz, exposed his penis to a 10-year-old girl at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The girl’s mother told police her daughter was out of her sight when she heard her screaming.
The girl was still crying and shaken up when she spoke to police. She said she ran away from the man, and he told her, “Come here, or I’m going to hurt you.”
Police say Cruz later told them he’s exposed himself to children six times previously but had not been caught. He has a previous conviction for indecency with a child by contact.
He is in jail with bond set at $25,000.
