Van Johnson and Marla Custard designed and installed the above garden recently.

Here’s how it looked before.

Johnson, who runs the Oak Cliff Gardeners page on Facebook, also had a vision for this triangle of concrete that nudges into the garden.

He thought it looked like the farthest western point of Texas, so he wanted to paint it to look like an old-school postcard.

He hired Top Drawer Curbs, who used 15 stencils to achieve Johnson’s vision. Help the Oak Cliff Gardeners celebrate this little patch of loveliness during a screening of the 1986 movie “Little Shop of Horrors” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.
