A Sunset High School dancer won a $3,000 scholarship that is typically given to athletes.
Gisela Ortíz, a senior and captain of the Sunset Dance Company, won Telemundo and Wingstop’s student athlete of the month.
She starts her day practicing dance at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays, before school starts at 9. She has a 4.0 GPA and is No. 1 in her class.
