If you don’t already avoid the intersection of Illinois Avenue and Interstate 35, where road construction is fully bananas, definitely find an alternate route this weekend.
The Texas Department of Transportation will close all lanes of I-35 at Illinois from 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, for reconstruction of the overpass.
Northbound and southbound traffic will be rerouted to the service roads.
Traffic on Illinois will be diverted to Beckley, Saner and Zang. In other words, don’t even go there.
