The $52-million upgrade to South Oak Cliff High School is finished, and students returned to the campus Tuesday, but they’re celebrating this coming Saturday.

The renovations came after students and the community protested conditions at the school in 2015.

Dallas ISD increased the budget from $18 million, and every part of the new school was renovated, from a new heating and air conditioning system to a new cafeteria, gym and classrooms.

You can see it for yourself this coming Saturday.

A parade and ribbon cutting start at 9 a.m., followed by a reception and school tours from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
