Brighter Bites, a nonprofit that promotes healthy eating and prevention of childhood obesity, packed up 10 varieties of fruits and vegetables from Fresh Point to give away at the Lakewest YMCA Monday.

On Tuesday, the group also gave away 350 more boxes of food to families whose kids attend Joe May Elementary in North Dallas.

“We are working with local partners like FreshPoint Dallas and YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to as many of our families that we can reach,” says Brighter Bites CEO Rich Dachman. “We continue to aggressively pursue alternative distribution channels to ensure our families continue to receive fresh produce in the coming weeks and months.”
