A 115-year-old house got a tour of West Davis Street Thursday night.
A developer wanted to demolish the house, built at Tenth and Bishop around 1905. But the owner of Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters reached a deal with Urban Genesis to move the house to a lot on Fouraker Street, behind Davis Street Espresso.
Architect Alicia Quintans, McMillan House Movers and Miller & Sons Construction spent weeks preparing the house to move. The house was cut in half horizontally — they cut the top story off and moved it with a crane.
Here are more photos from the move, courtesy of Alicia Quintans.
