What happened to James Alan White, whose luxury car was found in southeast Oak Cliff, after he went missing on Oct. 22? The Dallas Police Department reclassified White’s case as “endangered missing person” on Dec. 16.

White was last seen on surveillance video fueling up at Racetrac gas station on Inwood Road at 6 a.m. He had been seen leaving LA Fitness on Haskell Avenue at 5:38 a.m.

The 55-year-old executive was driving a 2019 Porsche Macan, which police found Oct. 29 near Bonnie View and Simpson Stuart roads.

White’s family hired a private investigator and is offering a $20,000 reward for information to help find him. White is 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing light grey tank top and dark gym shorts, and he was carrying a navy and maroon Coach sling bag.

GUN SALE GONE WRONG

A gun sale involving five men in southwest Oak Cliff last week resulted in two dead and three in jail facing murder charges.

Police say three 21-year-olds, Joe Martinez, Antonio Dwayne Mathis and Daniel Victor Barrera Jr., arrived to buy a gun from 20-year-old Christopher Ramirez at the Moulin Rouge Apartments at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

Berrera and Ramirez both were shot. Martinez and Mathis drove Berrera to the Ridgecrest Apartments, where someone called 911. Berrera died at a hospital, and police found Ramirez dead where he was shot.

A 17-year-old, Bryan Bernal Rivas, was arrested and charged with murder in the death of Berrera. Martinez and Mathis were charged with murder in the death of Ramirez a few days later.

TRAGEDY

Your daily newspaper has been taking a dive into the human aspect of homicides this year, including the July shooting death of 14-year-old Molina High School student John Zuniga, who was murdered in broad daylight a block from his home over $55 worth of marijuana. Two men were arrested, but a Dallas County grand jury declined to indict them in October.

DRUNK DRIVING

A 47-year-old man was charged with intoxication manslaughter last week after a 7:20 a.m. crash, near Illinois and Marsalis, killed a 10-year-old and injured two other children in another car.

ICYMI: Organized crime ring busted

The Dallas Police Department’s vice unit and the FBI arrested 25 people who are accused in an organized crime ring involving aggravated robbery. Three others are still wanted: Demarcus Johnson, Jeyson Brown and Romon Mitchell.
