Several neighborhood groups came together to sponsor a playground at Stevens Park Elementary that was dedicated last week to the memory of Rob Ruhlin, a young attorney who died in 2014.

The playground, for children in the school’s lower grades, replaces an outdated one that was not suitable for kindergarten-second grade students.

It was funded by Dash For the Beads, Allstate Foundation, Heritage Oak Cliff, Dallas ISD, Chad West, Stevens Park Village and Stevens Park Estates.

Ruhlin was a neighbor of the school and one of the founders of Dash for the Beads was of counsel for West’s law firm.
