The Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts is throwing a party and concert on the lawn of Turner House Thursday to celebrate its members.

The society is 95 years old, and the Texas impressionist Frank Reaugh was among its founding members.

But its content is fresh.

The annual Rising Star art show brings the work of up-and-coming artists, who are recommended by galleries all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Its biannual salon series has included local musicians, architects and intriguing history topics.

And its board is amid an on-going quest to preserve and renovate the historic Turner House.

The concert on the lawn Thursday starts at 6 p.m. and includes live music from the Rosemont Kings, a dinner and raffle.

A single ticket costs $60, but an Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts Membership costs $120 and includes the ticket.
