Sylvan Avenue Tavern, in the second-story space that used to be a yoga studio above Ten Ramen, is now hiring.

The restaurant and bar is a spinoff of Bryan Street Tavern, which opened more than 10 years ago and has become a neighborhood staple as well as a dive-bar destination.

Bryan Street Tavern serves wings, sandwiches, burgers and salads (here’s the menu). But it’s definitely known for pizza, as well as its sprawling sports bar atmosphere and generous patios.

A peek inside the front door of Sylvan Avenue Tavern this week revealed a large dining area overlooking the intersection across from the Belmont Hotel, another smaller room and a big central bar.

Owner Joe Hinkson told Culturemap earlier this year that Sylvan Avenue Tavern will be a little more polished than its dive-y sibling, and it will have brunch and a patio.
