The neighborhood spot known for its pub menu and brunches, dog-friendly patio and animal rescue efforts, was just outside the few historic blocks of what was then considered the Bishop Arts District when it opened nine years ago.

About six years ago, Alamo Manhattan bought a swath of properties between Zang and Madison, where there are now multistory apartment complexes with restaurants and shops.

The block along Seventh Street that includes Ten Bells has not yet been redeveloped, but the tavern announced on social media today that its lease is up next year, and the owner is not renewing it.

So Ten Bells is moving, but it’s not closing.

“Ten Bells 2.0 is in the works,” the post states. “And it’s literally right behind where we are now.”
