The 911 calls came in at 8:08 a.m. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded quickly and contained the blaze, and neighboring properties appear undamaged.

Agencia Hispana De Dallas on Bishop, which provides tax, notary and document preparation services to Dallas’ Spanish-speaking population, sat just feet away from residential houses on either side.

The owner of the property and business, Jackie S Briseno, says an Oncor transformer exploded at about 8 a.m. Jan. 1, sparking the inferno, which left the building in ashes and charred rubble.

Since the business was closed New Year’s weekend, no one was inside and there were no injuries.

In a public Facebook post, Briseno thanked Oak Cliff neighbors Joe Lumbley and Isaura Estrada for alerting 911 and then calling her.

In a follow up email Briseno says she is already hunting for a similar commercial property in the neighborhood where she and her team can re-open.

When asked how the community can help her get back on her feet, she responded that we could send any real estate leads her way. She just wants to get back to business.

Briseno says in a post addressing family, friends and clients:

“We are all ok and blessed to be here. Please be patient as we work hard to restore our phones, and we will find another location near my office to resume business!??❤️ I love everyone! Thanks so much to the Dallas fire Department, Police Department, all my staff, beautiful friends and family who came to my rescue!”
