The 2021 South Oak Cliff High School Golden Bears football team won’t have to wait for an invitation to Canton, Ohio for their gold jackets.
Grand Prairie-based Reveal Suits is giving each of them a custom suit with a SOC-gold jacket.
That was one aspect of the festivities at City Hall Wednesday when the state champion team was honored with cake and speeches.
Congratulations came via in-person appearances from former Dallas Cowboys players Charles Haley and Russell Maryland, as well as video kudos from Roger Staubach and former Dallas Police chief David Brown, who graduated from SOC in 1979.
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announced a parade for the team through Downtown on Jan. 22, which will be South Oak Cliff Day in Dallas.
