Wherever there’s a Chipotle, there ought to be a Starbucks somewhere around.

That’s soon to be the case on Fort Worth Avenue, where a Starbucks is planned to replace an old shopping center.

The retail strip at Jacqueline Drive, which formerly housed Rauliny’s Pizzeria, a dollar store, a taquería and a bakery, will be torn down.

We know Starbucks is in the plan for a new development, and it can be built by right. The property owner also is requesting a zoning change to allow an automotive business on the site.

This would be the first standalone Starbucks in our neighborhood. The coffee chain also has a store in Red Bird and a counter inside the Tom Thumb on Hampton Road.

Starbucks has found financial gains in recent years with drive-thru service.

This site on Fort Worth Avenue is adjacent to an Aldi store and near Walgreens and Chase bank.
