Dallas Film & Creative Industries, which announced the Best of Fests return on Twitter, says its “been a long two years … please join us as we get the Dallas film scene back up and rolling.”

Door open at 6 p.m. and the theater’s two screens will show short films from Oak Cliff Film Festival, EarthX Film Festival, Dallas International Film Festival and others. The night features a special toast to Tom Huckabee, the founder of The Lone Star Film Festival who recently succumbed to cancer, according to the announcement.

Formerly the Film Commission, the Dallas Film & Creative Industries Office provides local resources for film, television, animation, advertising, interactive, literature, music, and photography projects.

Speaking to the festival’s co-founder in 2020, the Dallas Observer noted that the goal of the Best of Fests is “not only to unify all of Dallas’ film festivals and communities, but also to grow the audience for each of them by offering moviegoers opportunities to see films they might not have known about or had time to watch.”
