The Dallas ISD named Antonio Verduzco one of three principals of the year recently.
Verduzco was raised in Oak Cliff and started his career 18 years ago as a teacher at Margaret B. Henderson Elementary in Elmwood.
Verduczo is now completing his fourth year as principal at B.H. Macon Elementary in southeast Dallas.
Here’s what DISD says about him:
B.H. Macon Elementary has implemented data-driven instruction to tighten student achievement gaps. Verduzco is a first-generation Mexican American who was raised in Oak Cliff by an immigrant grandmother and aunt.
The award comes with a $5,000 prize.
