Smokey John’s Bar-B-Que, owned by Oak Cliff natives Juan and Brent Reaves, advances to next week’s final round of the Good Morning America’s BBQ Competition. 

Smokey John’s Bar-B-Que beat Deep Ellum’s Pecan Lodge in Good Morning America’s search for the pitmaster of the year. Their hickory smoked brisket with sausage, coleslaw and an onion ring on top, won them their ticket to New York, where the next round will take place.  

The Reaves brothers will now go up against three other barbecue places from Washington D.C, Tampa, and Chicago, next Monday, The Dallas Morning News Reports.
