Dallas ISD District 7 Monthly Updates

  • Dallas ISD Offers Jobs to Over 100 Future Homegrown Educators: Dallas ISD’s P-TECH programs are ensuring that students across our district earn their associate degree while still in high school. This year’s senior class includes well over 100 students who are earning their associate degree in education. As such, Dallas ISD has made these students a guaranteed job offer to teach in the district once they earn their bachelor’s degree and teacher certification.
  • Winnetka Elementary Robotics Continues to Shine: Robotics has become a way of life at Winnetka Elementary School, where the kids and coaches shine year-in and year-out. Learn more about the powerful and positive impact that robotics has had on the school!

April Board Meeting Debrief: In this month’s regular Dallas ISD board briefing and meeting, the most important highlight was the ongoing superintendent search process, which is moving ahead according to the adopted schedule.

Superintendent Search Process: Last month, the board took action to finalize the job descriptiontimeline, community engagement plan and community survey. Over the month of April, the search firm hosted dozens of meetings with various stakeholders, including employees, students, families and community members. Here in District 7, I’m thankful to the approximately 30 community members who showed up to share their thoughts on the superintendent search process and the countless others who have made their voices heard through the survey and by reaching out.

As of Monday, April 25th, the application has closed and all the feedback that has been collected is currently being compiled by the search firm into a detailed candidate profile that will be shared publicly once available.

As always, if you have questions, thoughts or simply want to sit down and have a deeper conversation about anything Dallas ISD-related, I am always willing to grab a coffee and chat or set up a Zoom. Just reach out to me at BenMackey@dallasisd.org.
