The warehouse, located at 9306 West Jefferson Blvd., was abandoned with the fire being “well advanced” when officials arrived, a public information officer for the fire department said.

Between 60 and 70 firefighters arrived to the three alarm fire, and ground lines and arial ladder pipes were used to drown the flame. The roof of the warehouse collapsed as a result of the fire, officials say.

According to fire officials, the location of the warehouse was an abandoned aviation manufacturing plant that was undergoing demolition. This location sustained fire damage in April, after unhoused individuals took shelter in the building and lit fires inside of it.

Because of the damage and lack of witnesses to Tuesday’s fire, officials will not list a cause.

Units are expected to be on scene throughout the rest of the day.
