As Cinco de Mayo quickly approaches, the Dallas Cinco de Mayo Parade & Fiesta, presented by the Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts (OCCA), will take place on Jefferson Boulevard on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 1p.m.

Known as “North Texas’ biggest and longest-running parade,” the one-mile procession celebrating Mexico’s 1862 victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla kicks off at 10 a.m. after the SuVida Healthcare welcome ceremony at 9 a.m., where honorary marshals are pinned and a new poem will be presented by the 2024 Cinco de Mayo poet. At 10 .m., the WellMed Parade Step Off Confetti Shoot and the parade begins.

Following the parade, there will be a party featuring a Cultural Expressions performance by Ida y Vuelta Flamenco from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Texas Theatre.

The fiesta will feature food trucks, exhibiters, DJ music, local shopping and dining and remarks from artist Jesus Alba on his newest Dando Esperanza mural.
